Amy grew up in Stockport and attended Chetham's School of Music in 1999 where she studied with Susan Bettaney. Amy received a scholarship to the Birmingham Conservatoire and went onto study with the Head of Piano, Malcolm Wilson and Victor Sangiorgio. She now works a Freelance Pianist and teacher. Amy has recently been co-opted onto the management committee for EPTA UK and enjoys writing articles/book reviews for the magazine 'Piano Professional' and she has also delivered masterclasses in London and helped regularly with the events for EPTA at Chetham's School of Music. Amy manages the social media for EPTA UK and also the website for EPTA Europe.
Amy works as the Accompanist for ‘The Lydian Singers’ of Knutsford and ‘The Phoenix Singers’ of Leek. Amy has worked for ‘The Hammond School’, Royal Academy of Dance and has worked internationally as a Pianist. Amy is Accompanist for a variety of musicians and perfroms as part of a successful concert duo with Clarinettist, Sarah Douglas. They play in recitals around the UK and as Guest Artists for international cruise contracts. Recent projects include trips to Australia, New Zealand and the USA and up and coming concerts include performances at Alderley Edge Methodist and in the Sandbach concert series in Cheshire (please check my diary for future dates!).
In 2008 Amy was awarded her PGCE in Music Education and over the years has developed a strong teaching practice in Congleton through teaching piano and violin. Amy also plays the violin in string ensembles and performs with orchestras around Cheshire. Amy truly believes in providing opportunities for others and loves to encourage and promote her love for music to others. She is passionate about raising the standard of teaching through EPTA and to continue to build this wonderful profession for the future generations.
